Justin Timberlake talks about new film In Time

Written by Zen Terrelonge

There are some celebrities I can’t help but have great approval for and Justin Timberlake is one of them.

A true child star that begun his journey on The Mickey Mouse Club with the likes of former (or should that be future) love interest Britney Spears, ex *NSYNC bandmate JC Chasez, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling.

He went on to set the hearts of girls alight as lead singer of boyband *NSYNC before flying solo and releasing two albums.

Unsatisfied with becoming a success in the music world, the curly-haired JT moved into acting to star in notable films which include:

Alpha Dog, crime-drama based on a true story

Shrek the Third, umm Shrek the third. Voicing Arthur (As in the King)

Southland Tales, one of the worst films I’ve ever seen, why JT, why?

The Social Network, true story of Facebook’s creation

Bad Teacher, wild comedy set in a school with Cameron Diaz

Friends With Benefits, romcom starring Mila Kunis

In promotion of new film In Time, JT ran a Q&A session and came across very well revealing some interesting answers.

What was your favourite location to film? Anything quirky or weird happen on set?

We filmed in LA…nice to go home after every day. Amanda [Seyfried] is quirky, does that count?

If you had a clock in your wrist like the one in the movie, how would you accessorise it?

Not with a turtleneck.

Do you have plans to become a director in future?

I would be lying if I didn’t say it was very intriguing. The process of making movies is fascinating in front of the camera…

How long did it take you to film?

About three months.

How did you prepare (physically and mentally) for your most intense role yet?

I didn’t see this guy as an action hero, but as someone who was “street smart.” So I robbed a few people. LOL

What is it that interested you about In Time?

The concept, the writer/director, the actors and seemed like a really cool project to get lost in.

What kind of movie would you want to do next?

I’m not sure. Why, you got a good screenplay?

If you could go back in time to relive one moment in your life what would it be? And would you change it?

Sounds cliched, but we learn from everything good and bad. You have to have the bad to appreciate the good.

How are you answering the questions? In PJs? On a plane? At your restaurant?

While I’m eating a burger and fries, watching Game 7 and wondering if you guys are going to see the movie. And I’m not in my PJs.

For you, what represents the phrase: “Every second counts” in your real life?

Living life to the fullest, newest adventures and appreciating what you have.

Which actors inspire you?

Brando, Nicholson, Redford, Newman, Hanks, Sellers and the list goes on and on.

If you had one day left how would you spent it?

I would probably spend it with my family.

What is your favourite holiday dessert?

Pumpkin pie… especially with it’s made with cinnamon and nutmeg. And can’t forget the eggnog!

How does promoting a movie compare to promoting an album?

They are both equally gruelling schedules, but you go on tour after promoting an album. Promoting music is twice as hard.

What was your favourite part of doing this film?

A lot of fun making this movie…it would be the action sequences and working with great actors.
