Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series novel has been given an app spinoff on iPhone.
Book publisher Norstedts has created the app to introduce the Millennium world from a different perspective, seeking to attract both existing fans and a new audience alike.
(Lisbeth) Salander is the titular heroine with the body ink and the app provides more than 100 facts about The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo story and its author Stieg Larsson.
Users will experience 14 scenes from the crime thriller through the eyes of a hitman who is searching for Salander. This, has been added to create a new plot, while photographer Pieter ten Hoopen’s site photos have been combined with a specially commissioned script.
The app currently retails at $0.99 for a short time, though the full cost is $6.99.
