Snow White and the Huntsman is the second adaptation of the classic pasty-faced princess’ tale to be released in recent weeks, following on from Mirror Mirror, starring Lily Collins – daughter of Easy Lover, Phil – and Julia Roberts.

However, SWATH appears to be a different beast entirely. Director Rupert Sanders gives the tale a dark reworking of epic proportions, bringing in Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth as the respective titular characters, while Charlize Theron secures the post of  the evil queen.

The film premiered at London last night, as Leicester Square was transformed into the dark forest, complete with grass carpet to add authenticity.

Hemsworth and Stewart both highlighted just how mucky, wet and tiring the film is, and with the dwarfs getting a slight size upgrade, we may get to see something reminiscent of Disney meeting Lord Of The Rings.

Snow White and the Huntsman hits cinemas on 30th March.
