During my friend’s 25th birthday celebrations this evening, a very important topic came up.
No, of course it didn’t involve the birthday boy, it involved someone far more important – Batman (Christian Bale).
The Dark Knight Rises is a constant source of wonder:
I wonder what Nolan will create. I wonder what villain Bane (Tom Hardy) will look like/sound like. Really, look like. I wonder if the Caped Crusader will experience any discomfort. And I wonder just where exactly Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) fits into the mix. Oh, and who the hell is John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt)?!
However, in the run up to the film’s full length trailer, which will be shown before Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows next week, a new poster has been unleashed.

As you can see, ‘The Legend Ends’. Now what does this mean?
It could simply be referring to the trilogy coming to an end, or it may mean the end of Gotham’s Dark Knight. If the latter is the case, then it would appear Bane is connected as he strolls through the rain and into the darkness, leaving a fragmented Bat mask behind on the ground.
If the Bat has indeed been unmasked, his true identity of Bruce Wayne will have been revealed, which leads me back to Knightfall. The comic book storyline saw Bane discover Batman’s alias, leaving him in a world of hurt, Nolan will know this, so the poster could go one way or the other. Either way, tongues are certainly going to wag and speculation will rule supreme.
What’s your theory?
