Liam Neeson showcases his nightmarish skills in official Taken 2 trailer

Burly Irish bad arse, Liam Neeson, is back to business in Taken 2, the follow up to Paris-set thriller, Taken, which was released in 2008.

French pen, Luc Besson, is again behind the screenplay, which again follows Neeson’s retired CIA preventer, Bryan Mills, as he single-handedly embarks on yet another European expedition of gun-toting, bone-breaking proportions.

But how does one follow up on a film in which the protagonist’s daughter was ‘taken’ – kidnapped – and saved?

Well it’s simple.

You move the plot to Istanbul, and have Mills’ wife – ex wife in Taken, presumably his heroics stole her heart – snatched by revenge-filled bad guys instead.

Yes, that really is the plot.

Sure, it may be paper-thin, but who cares?! Mills/Neeson are back, and they’re ready to growl menacingly down the phone and do whatever it takes to save the day.

“Listen to me very carefully, Kim, your mother is going to be taken.”

It’s genius!
