Pinch, punch, it’s the first day of the month. Not entirely sure about the relevance of that statement, however given that February’s arrival has brought a bitter frost with it, Sony Pictures has turned up the heat with the first official image from Daniel Craig’s next outing as spy James Bond in Skyfall.

Filming will take place in China, Scotland and Turkey as the plot sees Bond’s loyalty tested when his mother-figure M has a series of secrets from the past escape. MI6 then comes under attack forcing 007 to end the threat no matter how personal the consequences.

As you can see from the image, Bond is sporting a beard rather than his usual clean shaven look, which suggests the latest mission is taking its toll on the ladykiller.

Could this be Craig’s last time as the womanising agent? I recently reported that Idris Elba may be taking over as Bond.

Skyfall is due for release in the UK on 26th October 2012, while the US will have to wait until 9th November.
