The Hunger Games – character posters

Written by Zen Terrelonge

The Hunger Games is due out in spring next year and rising star Jennifer Lawrence of X-Men: First Class is at the helm as Katniss – what a pretty name.

The story is that in the near future, the USA has fallen and has been ruined by drought, fire, famine and of course war.

This makes way for Panem, a new country that has been split into the Capitol and its 12 districts. Every year, two youngsters are chosen from the 12 districts in order to compete in a televised event known as The Hunger Games.

The games are brutal entertainment for the viewers as the contestants must eliminate or be eliminated so when Katniss’ young sister, Prim is selected, Katniss stands in for her to go against contestants that want nothing more than to survive.

The Hunger Games is adapted from the book of the same name by author Suzanne Collins.

Josh Hutcherson, Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks and Lenny Kravitz also star in the film.

The Hunger Games is released on 23rd March 2012.
