BIG SCREEN: Universal Showcase – Part Two

Written by Zen Terrelonge

Contraband stars a freshly blonde Kate Beckinsale as the wife that gets caught up in husband Mark Wahlberg’s dodgy dealings, which happen to be International smuggling as his financial worries force him to reconsider his shady past. Giovanni Ribisi is the insane madman out to get his money back when a deal goes sour.

Due for a release in March 2012.

The Debt is a dramatic thriller, set in the dual periods of the sixties and the nineties.

Set around a trio of Mossad agents and a secret that was kept between them.

To manage the varying periods comes a cast mixed of an older and a younger generation.

Starring Helen Mirren/Jessica Chastain as Rachel Singer, Ciarán Hinds/Sam Worthington as David and Tom Wilkinson/Marton Csokas as Stefan.

Originally set for a winter release last year, it is now due for release next month on 30th September 2011.

Tower Heist features Ben Stiller teaming up with old schoolmate and crook Eddie Murphy.

Murphy, from the trailer appears to be back on form, judging solely from his rant about little seizure boy alone.

The film is a comedy about a group of clueless workers out for revenge when they find out that a businessman has bamboozled them.

Tea Leoni and Matthew Broderick also feature as the gang tries to rob back their hard-earned pennies.

Due out on 4th November 2011, check out the trailer below.

Battleship is the big budget, alien attack film based upon the popular board game.

The invasion happens along the coast of Hawaii. A film with some great visuals it takes on the fruity singer Rihanna for her big screen debut.

Presumably she won’t burst into a rendition of ‘Man Down’ to boast team spirit against the flying blighters.

Liam Neeson stars as the hard-nosed Admiral, which has already won me over. As long as he gets to whisper a threatening line that involves inflicting some sort of pain upon the space invaders.

Due for release May 2012.
